Another successful PGC History Live event. We had 4 games on the go; (Period: Game system)
World War One: Peace Without Victory
Napoleonics: Black Powder
Celts v Romans: Hail Caesar
North Africa: Bolt Action
Many familiar faces came back to see us and we had just as many new people. A lot of converts again, Paul even turned into a salesman for Warlord at one point.
Ryan sets things up on the WW1 table
Carl tries to get out of setting up by feigning senility...oh wait
A French farmhouse about to suffer a rude awakening
The river of Mastick
Trench by Early War miniatures
No mans land
Some comments on WW1 by Irchester Primary School
The WW1 corner. Table flanked by Michaels paintings
Set up and ready to go
That was quick
Some bits and bobs for the public
The whole board
The farmer is pretty livid about all the angry Germans roaming about
British trench view
Wait for it lads
The Germans wait to charge
Donner und blitzen!
The attack on the farmhouse
German Uhlans wait for their chance to strike
While the British cavalry charge the German machine guns (somewhat foolishly)
Sergeant Darling on the left there
Land
Air
Sea. This is my favourite and Michael promised it to me for £5 including delivery, Honest guv.
Celts v Romans
Romans preparing to crush the Celtic hordes
While the Celts prepare to defend their homes
]
And what lovely homes they are
What have Romans ever done for us?
Bit nippy out today
Peace?! Shut up!
Witty comment goes here
Some of Julies terrain pieces
The whole board
Somewhere in Africa Im told
Bolt Action North Africa
The Kelmarsh gurning championship gets off to a good start
The Napoleonic Battlefield. Field commander Warren tries to remember if cavalry move diagonally or in that funny "L" shape
Somewhere in Africa the natives are restless
Free French and Brits vs Vichy and Germans was the order of the day
Home sweet home
Jack helps Graeme set up
I love getting close up shots of Warren. He always looks half confused/half annoyed.
The French
The British
Time to give old Boney a good thrashing chaps!
The local retirement home day out was assisted by their carer (in blue)
WW1 starts off with a bang!
Cavalry have taken a bit of a kick in there
The most Dave did all day
Other than curse my dice obviously
French vs French. Both sides are arguing over who surrendered first.
Michael clearly about to join the lunatic fringe there
Paul considers his next move (ie "Shall I spend more money at the Warlord stand or Timeline's ?")
We quickly got into the swing of things
a full house!
Sergeant Darling gives out some orders
Calmed down a bit
Thought I caught Paul in the act but he was in fact doing his sales pitch
What day is it? Is my son coming to pick me up? Where are my glasses?
He cant use that rifle the period hes dressed for! Do one!
On confused-Annoyed scale (or as its known "The Warren Spectrum") Id rate this a +2 annoyed
No Teddy bears were harmed in the making of this table
The Three Unwise Monkeys
Cleared up nice
Oh dear. It was all a bit much for the old dears
Who says Wargamers are getting older...
John adds some much needed normality to the Bolt Action table (even if it was hung over normality)
Well....maybe I spoke to soon
Men at work
Men not at work
Another great event my friends! Heres to next year!
