Dwarves or Wood elves???
I need to clear some space and raise some cash to cover my recent outlays on armies etc. and since I only play fantasy once in a blue moon can not justify two armies.
The dilemma...
Dwarves - bigger army, decent current rules, more game time, first army, some nicely done units/models but not a coherrent paint scheme/finish yet.
Wood elves - smaller army, rubbish in new rules, greater win rate and my best and most coherently painted army.
Which would you guys sell???

Follow your heart, for me I would say Dwarves. First love is telling.

if you are not bothered by playing either then why not consider selling both.
as GW stuff is so expensive you could get a great return for these and maybe not only cover your outlays but start a new fantasy army in the bargain, perhaps a Mantic one, which would cost far less and build it up over time.
Mantic are also bringing out new armies all the time and i would wager they will eventually cover all the GW armies with ones of their own / very similar. plus you could mix and match of course with some GW and some Mantic units
just my thoughts but that's what i'd do

Well some time back you already made a decision to sell your wood elves - why have second thoughts? I sold mine as I couldn't justify having four armies myself and picked on wood elves simply because they were underpowered in eighth edition thus far. However they will have a book in the not too distant future but if I were you I would keep the dwarfs they are so more resilient and these will probably have a new book out sooner than most others. Sometimes its the price you pay when dipping into so many systems this is why I have to limit myself to systems I just really like playing. I have got into Dystopian Wars but again I'm finding a dilemma in what system to buy models for every month or so, with a limited wallet. I have my eye on a Charlemagne Dreadnought but have gone for some Hexwraiths instead as I need them for SFS and the Team Challenge competition. With 17% off I thought why not! Its just painting at the moment is really hard to find the time. So far I have put together 32 Persian Mardian Archers, 40 Macedonian Pike, 3 Persian four-horse Chariots, 12 Persian Cavalry archers, 12 Thessalian cav, 10 Persian Light Cav, and I have only just started on the Persian Cav archers for painting. All this is for Kelmarsh and there is betting that I won't get it done, however I have more than enough other troops to compensate if I don't; so don't sweat Carl . Sell the wood elves as you said you would and recoop dividends on ebay. This could go to enhance your dwarfs or another system.

Yep Wood elves are going on ebay - am going to try for a silly price since they are so well painted and classic models. If they dont go I'll then try and sell them by unit. I only had doubts as I think model for model they are my best painted force but frankly I am keen to put some cash in the bank and cut back the fantasy armies. I just found my LOTR forces for the skirmish system and actually think that is the game I prefer for fantasy so may have to try and get some games going when the hobbit is released later this year.

Warren; i wont get any of those macedonians painted for kelmarsh BUT you are more than welcome to paint them if you need more.
i was speaking to someone today who may come to the club with a friend of his and he does LOTR and 40k, whilst his mate does 40k and FOW
