Hi Folks
I have been having a think about the length of the Firestorm turns and I really do think that at present the allies are disadvantaged - the first two turns have rolled only 6 games.
For the Allies to have a chance there needs to be more battles.
So my proposal is thus : we have a base value of 6 battles per turn to which we add 1 d6. So the min number possible would be 7 battles and a max of 12.
We are rattling through the campaign fairly quickly and there seems to be more interest from new gamers each week - this would also help get everyone who wants involved a regular game.
What do people think? - we could start from turn 3 or we could just add 1 d6 to the current turn 2?
Cheers
Roddy

Sounds like a good idea, otherwise we'll run out of turns/battles before we know it.
Add a d6 to this turn IMO.

It's something I have been thinking about as well. I can't make my mind up if more battles will disadvantage the Axis players. Ultimately the Allies have had two bad turns and really should have won more battles. It was 2000 pts v 1500-1650pts in all the battles except Eindhoven last week at the bottom end of the board and the Allies should really be further up the board and able to exploit more areas worth VP's than are currently available. (No judgement on anyone as I've lost 2 out of 3 battles)
On the other hand the campaign will be stifled if we were to say roll two or three battles in the next turn as that would restrict the allies and probably mean we can't get enough VP's to win it. Is that bad allied gaming or good german gaming?
Overall I think increasing the number of battles will be a good thing for the Campaign but I can't see Axis being overly delighted by it.

what about putting say a target of points to reach and if its done too quick by either side we simply start again from scratch
also, is there a table showing games and points/ progress?

As an Axis player I would have no problem with it. Also I think we will be oversubscribed this Tuesday with more players wanting to play a Firestorm game than we will have battles available as there are only two left in turn two as it stands.
Also adversity was thrown at the Germans in spades from 1942 onwards so they should be used to it!!
:-)

I can't see this being a huge problem either. The only question is whether having 11 or 12 games in a turn is too high, in terms of the number of games that need to be played.
Also are we still looking at spliting the games in a turn up into chunks of three games? In order to not swing things too far the other way, in terms of a much faster allied advance. Maybe we should look at having no more than 3 battle phases in a turn? Also that'd stop the turns being stretched out to much in terms of the weeks it will take to complete them.

Hi Chaps
I know I am new to this Campaign but I go along with Roddy on this one. No problem on more games as Germans we are used to it. One suggestion or request I would like to put forward. Would any of you chaps be interested in having some of the battles on a Saturday as well as Tuesday. My Tuesday is a bit mad at the moment. Cricket practice this week but nest Tuesday I am good for a battle.

We only actually book the hall on a Saturday for the last Saturday every other month, (our next Saturday is now the 31st of July). The Saturday bookings are there to allow members to play the sorts of games that take to long for a regular club night. We don't do it any more regularly as the cost is a lot higher, and members interest is usually not quite high enough for us to totally cover the costs of a Saturday from those who come down then.
So while there is no problem with Campaign games being played on Saturdays, we'll probably be well into the campaign by the next one, and likely to be done before the following one in September.
