well guys here it is the gamesday pack for 2010 it seems GW have come to there senses and listened to the conserns of the GCN becouse;- 1;they are willing to loan us a battle table for gamesday so we dont have to buy one. 2;whilst they do reqire photos of the table and minitures to be used they are even willing to lend some minitures if we need them! 3; to test the scenario they are offering a FREE days gaming at warhammer world so they can see the scenario in action. i think this is peronaly fair so david & calum the ball is in your court cheers darrell Attachments:

This is by far a good result - You really don't want to be lugging boards across the car park especially when its chucking it down with rain. Nice one GW and also a free test up at Warhammerworld - why didn't they offer this before (does that include a free meal? or am I just wishing for too much! : If this is the way to go for next year I will definately do a WFB scenario but I will leave it for the 40K guys this year.

i cant see where they will loan armies mate. it says if you cant paint armies AND a board they will lend a board out.
it also says in the 'what gw will provide' section they will loan a board but no mention of models.
so i read it as we use our models AND scenery on their boards meaning any losses are once again from volunteers own armies not gw.
so are you STILL going to go?

it may be possible to request eithe spesific scenery ie nid scenery or maybee a basion the way i read it is if a club makes a spesific piece to inprove the look of the table if the club does not have or cannot afford

The Idea I have is to build a Wall out of foam card and possibly use the Planetstrike Scenery I have.
This should be doable, as I have made a lot of Progress.
Darrell - If they supply the boards, could you request Snow theme
Thanks David

Terrain should not be a problem, we can use the buildings we have, maybe if I get chance, I can build the fortifications.
I am currently painting the Nids, and they are coming on quickly

The nice thing we found about WotR at Games Day (cause Northampton ran one last GD) was that it was very easy to pick up, put away and restart. It's also d**n hard to lose models to wandering hands. Turns can play as quick or as slow as you want and there's a real ability to tailor it to people who don't know how to play, as well as those who do. We played our game fully 5 times over the course of the day with very little down time in between. Also what with people coming in for 15-30minutes at a time, the rotation in players was simple and easy to adjust to because of the nature of the game. You'll also find that if you put in a WotR proposal you're more likely to get accepted to run a game - I have a feeling Fantasy will half n' half with proposals, what with the new edition coming and a potential shift of rank changes etc. so alot of people will opt for the safe bet of 40k. According to the proposal sheet they're only accepting 8 40k, 8 fant and 8 wotr. So if the bigger groups take the safe bet (and they most likely will and be accepted more likely, due to a reputation in size of players/standing amongst GCN then you might get trod on. Now I don't know how big Phoenix is, in terms of being well known, size of club, etc. but some of the London clubs (and Nott clubs) are pretty darn big, both in being 'known' and size/ability to host things. Just something to think 'bouts
