There was a load of zulus that needed to be painted. I forgot to pick any up on Sat. Save me 30 to do, and i'll quickly pick them up next Tues.

Lovely mate - I will post up how I would like you to do them as they are regiment based or I'll see you Tuesday with 30 to do. The different shield designs or should I say patterns are what distinguishes each regiment. The rest of the chaps are the same except for heads which have married zulus (with head bands) and unmarried zulus (without head bands). I'm trying to get as many unmarried zulus as possible as these are obviously the most numerous because of their younger age. Will let you now which regiment I would like you to do. Thank you for the offer it is most appreciated.

Just a note for those that have volunteered to paint up a few zulus. You must ensure that the shield patterns are correct for the regiments. The only leeway is the ones that i have given Kieron and Roddy to do. These are the young unmarried guys who couldn't be choosy about the shield design as there was a distinctive lack of appropriate cattle hides. These are the InGobomakhosi. Just do them equally spread with different designs www.wargamesfactory.com/_literature_53136/Farnworth_Zulu_Painting_GuideThis is helpful

Basing...
Correct me if im wrong, but I believe it would be a lot cheaper to base these figures on 2pence pieces (50 bases for £1), rather than the GW 40k bases(5 for £2.50), plus we then get some weight to the figures.
Could we all do this? or do we have a cheap supply of 40k bases somewhere?

If you can fit the 2p coins or the green discs into the LOTR movement bases then fine. If they don't fit or are too loose then there is a problem. I really don't want to spend half the battle moving 35 men in each unit one by one without the movement bases. With 360 odd zulus this will be time consuming.

Actually we won't need that much as I already got 60 from David. So a round 300 would be ok - again they have to fit into those movement trays.
