Thought that would be ok - this should cover the building costs (£80) and get some prizes etc.... with the £120 left. I'm not sure of trophies etc or certificates what should we do about that? The problem here is that everything has to be done twice being that its a doubles tournie. I really would like a small trophy for the winners here and some nice fantasy prizes.

Well the Trophy is a no brainer, as for prizes that a good idea, but I guess we need to see how many teams we're likely to get before we start buying stuff.
Certificates is less of a problem. We can just get a few sheets of some decent quality coloured thin card and print some off. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best Painted Army, and whatever other minor awards we feel like giving out. Most Bloodthirsty General (Highest amount of points scored and given away combined) and so on.
Incidentally I'd rather not go with a random draw for team mates. I'd actually quite like to use this as a chance to get a bit of practice in with whoever I'm likely to be going to the Warhammer Doubles with myself.

Ok great settled after having a conversation with Carl and with Andy's thoughts I don't think the random draw is going to be a popular idea - so it's a free for all now. Julie and I will pair up this year as I haven't paired up with her for a few years at the GW tournament.
If people could let me as soon as possible who they are going to pair up with then I get on with forwarding this event to other clubs.
So far we have Julie and myself Andy Carl Stephen Darrell Paul and his partner.
If you could sort yourselves out with who teams with who then that would be nice. That's four teams leaving 16 more team places to fill. Is there anybody else that would like to get into this venture?

Just one thought on the tournament, where is everyone going to park? I don't know the area that well, but a guaranteed place to put cars with a detailed map of how to get to the hut would be very useful. Unless you know where it is the Scout hut is going to be hard to find. Once ready mentioning it on the warhammer forum warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=13&sid=21c3e1bcf2468f011ccb23e3a373c802will fill places easily. Also will there be a way to pay by Pay-Pal, as that is the easiest method of payment in advance.

Give us a chance Paul! All of what you have asked about is covered in the "pack" - where they can park... where we are link... and yes I will be using my own Paypal account and sending the money on to the Phoenix gaming club account. Parking is free over at Duck street / Alfred street but organisers and club members will park in the front of the scout hut for easier access as we have a lot to do. I do hope that you will be giving us a hand there Paul on this day - as it will be all hands on to get this running? The pack will be made available once it has been finely scrutinised by a second party. Great idea for the Warhammer forum though but I will want to post out to regional clubs first.

Of course I will be helping out, any way that you need me to. I don't mind being a referee as well, so long as I can still be a player while doing so.

Not a problem - with that it would be good to have at least 5 player-referees. This could be Stephen, Myself, Paul, Carl, Darrell - if anyone here doesn't wish to do so then fair enough.

Might be worth just posting the pack here first, so we can check for any problems/questions that may arise before general publication.

I am going to lock older forum threads on the doubles to focus on newer issues and not have umpteen pages of discussion which can look a little untidy. They will still be readable
