Actually the infantry bugged out and it was left to the hardy Mortar platoon to fend off the tanks while the US Cavalry (in the shape of my M18s) charged across the board to come to their rescue. - There was one mortar and the platoon hq left after a couple of heroic platoon morale saves. i think there are a couple of Silver Stars on their way to those GIs!

Steve; result from mine and Roddy's game last night
Win for Carl. VP's = Carl 4 - Roddy 3
quite a bloodbath at times with Roddy having some appalling dice rolls 7 x 1's and a 2 for 8 consecutive infantry saves at one point. the dice gods were not kind for those five minutes or so.
Playing Alex's Poles next week.

It was a good game. I think my first turn dice were a bit above average.
I learned something last night and that was that being aggressive with an Infantry Company can pay off at times. I fought the urge to sit back and wait for gerry to come at me.
Cheers Alex

Your Poles did the same to me down your left when we played. It would have been touch and go with the church as cover. The dice gods were with me on the other side of the table though. Attack can be the best form of defence, as the saying goes.

I've updated the table with the latest results.
Although I don't have the VP's for Dave and Roddy's game.
