the meeting for xmas eve week is actuallyon the TUESDAY which is the 23rd so this does not clash with xmas eve. perhaps this needs putting up somewhere prominent Has that been verified anywhere? I'm trying to look for a night for the Club xmas night out and think it may be a good idea to have it on the Thursday before say 18th December? Would this be ok for the majority? Hopefully setting it this early would help it getting a foot in the door before anybody has actually organised their own festivities or outings for the xmas weeks. However, if you are one of those really organised people who has their life set out before you (..oh and I hate you ), then please tell me that there may be a clash.

think would be best on a friday so as not to worry about work if going out on a thursday. also, some of the juniors could come along to the meal if held on a friday as not having to worry about school. think thursday is a bad night personally.

Ok I thought Friday intially but then thought the Chinese buffet hiked their prices on Friday nights and weekends - as we went in the week last time round because of this.
Well we could put it to a vote ................. again.

no we went friday last year and previous. they hike the price by 2 quid because its christmas not because of the day. pretty much all of december is dearer. i would rather go on a friday but what does everyone else think.

At most restaurants that offer an "all-you-can-eat" buffet dining experience, the cheapest time to go is during the day on a weekday. The price rises in the evening, and also rises at the weekend. Weekend evenings (Friday evening and Saturday evening) are the most expensive. Christmas price hikes are, sadly, unavoidable regardless of whether we eat on a Tuesday lunchtime or a Friday evening. If people are watching the pennies, then Monday-Thursday evenings would likely be best (as I assume we couldn't do a lunchtime meal) but a Friday night meal would allow those of us working a standard week to kick back and relax.

as far as i am awre the prices are the same whatever night and the price increases because of the time of year. Warren, maybe best to check with the restaurant and then give us the options on here so we can make a decision based on actual facts.

Warren; can you sort a printed list of prizes out so that you can show people when you ask them to buy tickets, so they can see whats up for grabs

I'm sure that they all have this website address but failing that there is the print out sheet for that - if you wish you can print out the update message above.

The only two positions that need a vote are as follows:
Chairman: Nominees: Carl King, Darrell Lee
Committee Member without Portfolio: (Basically a seat on the committee but no specific role to fulfil) Nominees: Jon Nicholls, Liam Thompson
The other three positions of Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Events Co-ordinator only have a single person standing for each position. Myself, Daiv Bettison and Warren Stevens respectively.
Rick if you want to send me an email, or a private message with your votes in advance that's fine.
