As mentioned below, here is the full list. All blurb has been borrowed from Memory Alpha, my own memory or just plain made up. Danube-class (aka Runabout-class) Scout - 28 points The Danube-class was first commissioned by Starfleet in 2368 for use as a light multi-purpose craft in situations that demanded a vessel more capable than a standard shuttlecraft, but lower profile than a full-sized starship. With this flexibility, a runabout could be utilized as a long-range personnel and cargo transport, an agile mobile defence platform, or a high-speed reconnaissance vehicle.MASS: 8 Hull: 2 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Fire Control Systems: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 1 (360) x 2
Design Notes: Not a lot to say about this one. It's a small Scout vessel. Danube-Refit Corvette - 39 points In late 2370, Chief Miles O'Brien of Deep Space 9 began retrofitting the weapon systems of the runabouts USS Mekong and USS Orinoco with extra banks of photon torpedoes in preparation to the Federation's first engagement with the Dominion.MASS: 11 Hull: 2 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Fire Control Systems: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 1 (360) x 2
- Submunitions Packs: (F) x 2
Design Notes: Likewise, not a lot to say about this one. It's been upgraded from a Scout to a Corvette as a result of my rejigging of the ship classes and to accomodate its additional weapons. The Submunitions Packs represent its limited supply of Photon Torpedoes. It's slightly underhulled for a Corvette, but as the design represents an upgunned Scout, I'm happy with that. Oberth-class Frigate - 67 points In service as early as the 2280s, the Oberth-class was designed and used almost exclusively for the study of astronomical phenomena, including data gathering missions on stars and planets, well into the 2360s.MASS: 20 Hull: 6 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 1 Fire Control Systems: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 1 (360) x 3
- Submunitions Packs: (F)
Design Notes: A good solid Frigate armed with Phasers and a limited supply of Photon Torpedoes (Submunitions Pack). USS Pegasus - 92 points In 2358, the Oberth-class USS Pegasus served as a prototype for testing advanced starship technologies. The Pegasus was outfitted with an experimental engine and new weapon systems, some of which were used in the designs for Galaxy-class starships. In addition to this, the Pegasus was the prototype for an illegal Federation cloaking device.MASS: 23 Hull: 6 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 1 Fire Control Systems: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (360), Class 1 (360)
- Cloaking Field
Note: Only one USS Pegasus may be included in any fleet, as this design represents a unique and specific ship. Design Notes: There no longer exists an Oberth-Refit; instead I incorporated the idea into the Pegasus, where the Class 2 Beam Battery represents its experimental (at the time) weaponry. The experimental engines mentioned in the background above would be reflected in its FTL drive and thus have no discernible game effect IMHO. An explanation of how a functional USS Pegasus makes its way into a fleet would be complete PSB so I shan't go into it here . Constitution-class Destroyer - 102 points The Constitution-class lineage was launched some time prior to 2245, and served as Starfleet's front-line vessels for the rest of the century. The Constitution-class also served as a mighty deterrent to both the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire, several times taking part in combat actions which determined the fate of the entire Federation if not the Alpha Quadrant itself.MASS: 30 Hull: 8 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 2 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (AP, FP, F), Class 2 (AS, FS, F), Class 2 (AP, A, AS)
Design Notes: There no longer exists the alternative weapons arc Consitution; I figured the game effects are so minimal that it served no purpose. Other than that, there have been no changes to this class.
As an aside, this is where the multi-arc design for weapons starts to show. To the front, aft-port and aft-starboard it can fire two of the Beam Batteries at whilst targets in the other three locations can only be targeted by a single weapon, so the ship will require a degree of manoeuvring to optimise its firepower. Constitution-Refit Heavy Destroyer - 134 points In the late 2260s to early 2270s, the Constitution-class starships underwent their final major refit program. The actual refitting took eighteen months of work and essentially a new vessel was built onto the bones of the old, replacing virtually every major system. MASS: 40 Hull: 12 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 2 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (FS, AS, A), Class 2 (FP, AP, A), Class 2 (AP, FP, F), Class 2 (AS, FS, F)
Design Notes: An upgunned, uphulled version of the above ship. The second type of my multi-arc weapons designs is shown here; it is capable of firing 2 Beam Batteries in any direction. Olympic Light Cruiser - 173 points The Olympic-class served the Federation as early as the 2370s. Though usually configured as hospital ships, Olympics were occasionally used as fleet defence against enemy fighters and missiles.MASS: 51 Hull: 15 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 4 Fire Control Systems: 2 Area Defence Fire Controls: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (360), Class 1 (360) x 2
- Level 1 Screens
Design Notes: A specific ship designed as an ADFC carrier to protect other ships from Fighters and Missiles. Not much to say about it other than that. Screens are uncharacteristic on such a small class of vessel; these have been added in an attempt to keep it safe from enemy fire, which would likely target it to prevent it protecting other ships. Constellation Light Cruiser - 171 points During the early 24th century, the Constellation-class was noted for performing both deep-space exploration and defensive patrol duties. MASS: 51 Hull: 15 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 2 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (FP, F, FS), Class 2 (FS, AS, A), Class 2 (FP, AP, A), Class 2 (AP, FP, F), Class 2 (AS, FS, F), Class 2 (AP, A, AS)
Design Notes: The third type of my multi-arc weapon designs is capable of firing 3 Beam Batteries in any given direction. Miranda-class Escort Cruiser - variable points cost Miranda-class starships were in service as early as the mid-2280s. The mission profile of the Miranda-class varied from performing various scientific roles to conducting patrol duties. The predominant Miranda-class design included a superstructure (or "roll bar") fitted immediately above the primary hull, as a dorsal extension of the ventral nacelle pylons. This superstructure was equipped with torpedo launchers and phaser banks.MASS: 60 Hull: 17 Thrust: 4 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (FS, AS, A), Class 2 (FP, AP, A), Class 2 (AP, FP, F), Class 2 (AS, FS, F)
- Level 1 Screens
Design Notes: I have made the Miranda-class modular; the above design is the core to which a single module consisting of 9 MASS of extras can be added. However, all Mirandas will have the above stats regardless of whatever else they have, with the exception of the Miranda-class Fleet Auxiliary ship.Miranda-class Escort Cruiser, with Sensor Pods - 220 points Adds: Weapons and other equipment: - Needle Beams: (F) x 4
- Enhanced Sensors
Design Notes: Representing a Miranda with an enhanced sensor suite, the Needle Beams represent weapons capable of taking advantage of the enhanced sensor readings.Miranda-class Escort Cruiser, with Rollbar - 208 points Adds: Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (360)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS)
Design Notes: Representing the classic Miranda with Rollbar, the Rollbar is assumed to be armed with additional weapons. Miranda-class Fleet Auxiliary - 152 points By the latter half of the 24th century, one variation of the Miranda class was known by the designation of Class 6 Federation supply ship.MASS: 60 Hull: 17 Thrust: 2 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (360), Class 1 (360)
- Level 1 Screens
- Cargo Space: 20
Design Notes: A Fleet Auxiliary ship (normally carries spare parts, fuel, ammunition and other essential starship maintenance equipment) based around the Miranda design. Intrepid Escort Cruiser - 215 points Development and construction of the Intrepid-class occurred at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards with the class entering service by 2370.MASS: 64 Hull: 19 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (FP, F, FS), Class 2 (FS, AS, A), Class 2 (FP, AP, A), Class 2 (AP, FP, F), Class 2 (AS, FS, F), Class 2 (AP, A, AS)
- Level 1 Screens
Design Notes: An uphulled version of the Constellation, Level 1 Screens give the Intrepid a better chance of surviving incoming fire. Excelsior Heavy Cruiser - 275 points + costs of Fighters The Excelsior-class was initially constructed during the early 2280s at Starfleet's San Francisco Fleet Yards orbiting Earth. Despite the failure of the "Great Experiment," Starfleet forged ahead with employing the Excelsior design. After remaining in Earth Spacedock until at least 2287, the prototype Excelsior was subsequently recommissioned for active service by 2290.MASS: 80 Hull: 24 Thrust: 4 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (FS, AS, A), Class 2 (FP, AP, A), Class 2 (AP, FP, F), Class 2 (AS, FS, F)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS)
- Level 1 Screens
- Fighter Bays: 1
Design Notes: In line with the ship design doctrine, there are no dedicated Carrier ships. Instead, a number of ships include a small number of Shuttlebays (i.e. Hangar Bays) capable of launching shuttlecraft if necessary. The Excelsior is the smallest Federation ship design to do so. Ambassador Heavy Cruiser - 271 points The Ambassador class starship was a Starfleet heavy cruiser launched during the mid-24th century. It featured the saucer section-engineering section-warp nacelle layout common to most Starfleet vessels.MASS: 81 Hull: 24 Thrust: 6 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (AP, FP, F), Class 2 (AS, FS, F), Class 2 (FP, AP, A), Class 2 (FS, AS, A), Class 2 (AP, A, AS)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS)
- Level 1 Screens
Design Notes: A counterpoint to the Excelsior, the Ambassador is well armed and has a high enough Thrust value to perform some good manoeuvres. Excelsior-Refit Battlecruiser - 347 points With the impending threat of the Dominion against the Federation, Starfleet began to experiment, in 2372, with performing a refit on the Excelsior-class USS Lakota. Upgrades included improved phaser emplacements, quantum torpedoes, and other improvements to make the ship competitive with such ship designs as the Defiant-class.MASS: 102 Hull: 24 Armour: 10 Thrust: 4 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (AP, FP, F), Class 3 (AS, FS, F), Class 2 (FS, AS, A), Class 2 (FP, AP, A)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS) x 2
- Level 1 Screens
Design Notes: I started with a standard Federation design and refitted it to make it more like a warship (armaments mostly faced to the front, additional armour etc.) Like the Danube-Refit, it is underhulled (for a Battle Cruiser) but it's supposed to represent an upgunned (and newly armoured) Heavy Cruiser so I'm not unhappy with it. Nebula Battleship - variable points value Construction of the Nebula-class was spearheaded under the authority of the Yoyodyne Division, and ranged in construction dates from as early as 2363 to as late as 2367. Vessels including USS Phoenix and USS Sutherland where constructed at this time at both the 40 Eridani A Starfleet Construction Yards and later the San Francisco Fleet Yards orbiting Earth. The mission profile of the Nebula-class varied from performing various scientific roles to conducting patrol and transport duties. Atop the primary hull of the Nebula was a superstructure which could support a variety of modules, such as the inclusion of a triangular platform, fitted with torpedo launchers, an oval platform, or additional warp nacelles.MASS: 120 Hull: 36 Thrust: 4 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 3 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (AP, FP, F), Class 3 (AS, FS, F), Class 3 (AS, A, AP)
- Level 1 Screens
Design Notes: Like the Miranda, I've made the Nebula modular, though the Nebula is capable of accepting a further 18 MASS of extras.Nebula Battleship, equipped with Area Defence Module - 401 points Adds: Thrust: 2 (for a total of 6) Point Defence Systems: 4 (for a total of 7) Area Defence Fire Controls: 1 Design Notes: Another ADFC ship. I've added Thrust to enable it to manoeuvre into position to protect the other ships in the fleet.Nebula Battleship, equipped with Sensor Module - 435 points Adds: Weapons and other equipment: - Needle Beams: (F) x 5
- Level 1 Screens (for a total of Level 2 Screens)
- Superior Sensors
Design Notes: Another Sensor ship armed with Needle Beams. The additional Screens should protect it enough to get into position to use them.Nebula Battleship, equipped with Shuttlebay Module - 411 points + costs of Fighters Adds: Weapons and other equipment: Design Notes: The closest thing to a proper Carrier design I've made by dint of being the only ship having more than a single Fighter Bay .Nebula Battleship, equipped with Weapons Module - 411 points Adds: Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 2 (360)
- Pulse Torpedoes: (FP, F, FS)
- SMLs: (FP, F, FS) + Magazine of 3
Design Notes: A less specialised design than the other Nebula-class ships here. For some reason, this seems to be the only design in the fleet that includes SMLs, though I made no conscious choice to not include them. Galaxy Battle Dreadnought - 530 points + costs for Fighters The Galaxy-class was a Starfleet vessel first introduced in the late 2350s. It was the largest and one of the most powerful Federation starship classes of its time, with many serving in the Dominion War.MASS: 151 Hull: 45 Thrust: 4 FTL: Yes Point Defence Systems: 3 Fire Control Systems: 4 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (AP, FP, F), Class 3 (AS, FS, F), Class 3 (FP, AP, A), Class 3 (FS, AS, A)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS), (AP, A, AS)
- Fighter Bays: 1
- Level 1 Screens
- Enhanced Sensors
Design Notes: Nothing to say here. Galaxy Saucer Section, post saucer separation - 223 points + costs for Fighters The Galaxy-class had two hull sections, a saucer-shaped primary hull and a secondary hull on which were mounted the two warp nacelles. The hulls were capable of reversible saucer separation and were both equipped with independent flight and combat capabilities. Generally, civilians and non-essential personnel would evacuate to the saucer module, while the senior staff confronted a threat in the battle section, which contained the majority of weapons systems.MASS: 58 Hull: 17 Thrust: 2 FTL: No Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 2 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (AP, FP, F), Class 3 (AS, FS, F), Class 2 (AP, A, AS)
- Submunitions Packs: (F) x 4
- Fighter Bays: 1
- Level 1 Screens
- Enhanced Sensors
Galaxy Stardrive Section, post saucer separation - 337 points MASS: 93 Hull: 28 Thrust: 3 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 4 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (FP, F, FS), Class 3 (FP, AP, A), Class 3 (FS, AS, A)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS), (AP, A, AS)
- Level 1 Screens
- Enhanced Sensors
Design Notes: Please note that I am not, in any way, shape or form, creating rules for a in-game saucer separation sequence. I created these rules more for fun than anything else. They could be used in a specific scenario, say where a Galaxy-class has separated and the Stardrive section must cover the Saucer's departure, but are unlikely to see use in general play.
The two ships were roughly designed by splitting the parts of the Galaxy down. Some parts were added, such as the limited supply of Photon Torpedoes in the Saucer section (Submunitions Packs) and Beam Batteries 'revealed' by the separation. However, the MASS, Hull points and Crew Factors all total up to be the same as the Galaxy . Galaxy-Refit Dreadnought - 630 points + costs of Fighters Following Jean-Luc Picard's experience of an anti-time eruption, Starfleet began to develop a refit design for the Galaxy class. The addition of a third warp nacelle enabled the ships to achieve higher speeds at Warp without destroying the fabric of Subspace.MASS: 180 Hull: 52 Thrust: 4 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 3 Fire Control Systems: 4 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (FP, F, FS), Class 3 (FS, AS, A), Class 3 (FP, AP, A), Class 3 (AP, FP, F), Class 3 (AS, FS, F), Class 3 (AP, A, AS)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS), (AP, A, AS)
- Fighter Bays: 1
- Level 1 Screens
- Enhanced Sensors
Design Notes: Though the third nacelle would work wonders for FTL travel, it has no discernible effect in-game.
This ship has been created as a possible refit of the Galaxy in the regular timeline, and is not representative of the ship seen in All Good Things... Future Enterprise-D - 846 points In an alternative future, Admiral William T. Riker rescued the Enterprise-D from decommissioning and had it refitted as his personal flagship. With tensions running high with the Klingon Empire, this refit effectively turned the Enterprise into a warship.MASS: 200 Hull: 50 Armour: 20 Thrust: 2 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 3 Fire Control Systems: 4 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (FP, F, FS) x 6
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS)
- Cloaking Field
- Level 2 Screens
- Enhanced Sensors
Note: Only one Future Enteprise-D may be included in any fleet, as this design represents a unique and specific ship. Design Notes: This ship is supposed to represent the ship seen in All Good Things... and thus is of a completely different design to the 'regular' Galaxy-Refit (as seen above). Again, how it joined the fleet would be PSB so is left undetailed. Sovereign Superdreadnought - 848 points + costs of Fighters The Sovereign-class was introduced during the early 2370s, and was, at the time, the most advanced starship design in the fleet. The Sovereign-class was built at the San Francisco Fleet Yards, including the USS Enterprise-E, which was launched from that facility on stardate 49027.5.MASS: 241 Hull: 72 Thrust: 4 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 4 Fire Control Systems: 4 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (FP, F, FS), Class 3 (AP, FP, F), Class 3 (AS, FS, F), Class 3 (FP, AP, A), Class 3 (FS, AS, A), Class 3 (AP, A, AS)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS) x 2, (AP, A, AS)
- Fighter Bays: 1
- Level 2 Screens
- Superior Sensors
Design Notes: I'm not entirely happy about this design as I'd rather have had at least one Class 4 Battery (in the (FP, F, FS) arc) but had to trim it off to make room for the Fighter Bay. Sovereign Superdreadnought, equipped with Corbomite Reflector - 944 points + costs of Fighters Originally used as a bluff by Captain James T. Kirk, the fictitious Corbomite Reflector became a reality in 2373 when a long retired Engineer submitted plans for the device to Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge. Some Sovereign-class vessels have since been modified to accommodate a Reflector, which enables it to redirect enemy fire back at its opponents, albeit at the cost of the ship's manoeuvrability.MASS: 241 Hull: 72 Thrust: 2 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 4 Fire Control Systems: 4 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (FP, F, FS), Class 3 (AP, FP, F), Class 3 (AS, FS, F), Class 3 (FP, AP, A), Class 3 (FS, AS, A), Class 3 (AP, A, AS)
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (FP, F, FS) x 2, (AP, A, AS)
- Reflex Field
- Fighter Bays: 1
- Level 2 Screens
- Superior Sensors
Design Notes: The concept (and some of the blurb) come from the computer game Star Trek: Armada. Defiant-class Superdreadnought - 849 points The Defiant-class starship, officially an escort, began development in 2366 as a small, highly-powered, heavily-armed warship intended to defend the Federation against the Borg. Starfleet abandoned the project when the Borg threat became less urgent; also, design flaws turned up, nearly destroying the Defiant during its initial shakedown cruise. The Defiant prototype was pulled out of storage in 2371 when the Dominion threat emerged. After several upgrades by Operations Chief Miles O'Brien, the ship was deemed worthy of use and several more ships of the class were constructed.MASS: 250 Hull: 52 Armour: 26 Thrust: 6 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 4 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (F) x 4, Class 2 (360) x 2
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (F) x 4
- Level 2 Screens
- Superior Sensors
Design Notes: I am finally happy with this design! USS Defiant - 1049 points Designed in 2366, the Defiant was the first of what was to be a new class of heavily-armed Federation starship, and later reputed to be one of the most heavily-armed vessels in the entire Alpha Quadrant. Officially designated an escort, although unofficially a warship, the Defiant-class was specifically designed to counter the Borg. A special amendment to the Treaty of Algeron allowed the Defiant to be fitted with a Romulan cloaking device.MASS: 250 Hull: 52 Armour: 26 Thrust: 4 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 4 Fire Control Systems: 3 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 3 (F) x 4, Class 2 (360) x 2
- Pulse Torpedo Launchers: (F) x 4
- Level 2 Screens
- Superior Sensors
- Cloaking Field
Note: Only one USS Defiant may be included in any fleet, as this design represents a unique and specific ship. Design Notes: Ditto! Vulcan Transport - 60 points A Vulcan long range shuttle was a type of Vulcan shuttle that was utilized during the late 23rd century as a courier. These long range shuttles featured a detachable cabin, capable of acting as an independent craft from the stardrive section.Note: Is a Civilian ship so has 1 Crew Factor/50 MASS. MASS: 32 Hull: 3 Thrust: 2 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 1 Fire Control Systems: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 1 (360)
- Passenger Space: 20
Design Notes: Since I couldn't use the Sarek model as a Fighter, I created this as an alternative, in case I ever need to transport people. Civilian Transport Ship - 111 points A typical Civilian Transport ship.Note: Is a Civilian ship so has 1 Crew Factor/50 MASS. MASS: 62 Hull: 6 Thrust: 2 FTL: yes Point Defence Systems: 2 Fire Control Systems: 1 Weapons and other equipment: - Beam Batteries: Class 1 (360)
- Passenger Space: 40
Design Notes: Again, in case I ever need to transport people. I plan on using the Maquis Fighter model to represent this ship.
I also intend to use the Light, Medium and Heavy Freighter designs out of Fleet Book One (page 42) so I shan't reproduce those here.
