Dear club members
Another year gone and another round of us asking for people to consider putting themselves forward to be part of the club's committee.
All of the current committee post-holders terms which are up for election will end on AGM night.
The committee roles up for election are:
Chairman: Currently held by Paul Tysoe
Treasurer: Currently held by Stephen Mawson
Events Co-ordinator: Currently held by Warren Stevens
Non-specific Role 2: Currently held by Aron Britchford
All current members are currently willing to stand for re-election.
Anyone who wishes to stand for election for a committee position, including the current committee members who wish to stand for re-election, can put themselves forward for election from today until 30th November.
From the 30th of November, votes will be taken for any contested committee positions, i.e. positions where two or more people have chosen to stand for election.
If only one person stands for a position they will automatically be elected to that committee position at the AGM.
Should no-one stand for election for a committee position, additional time may be given for people to stand for that position only.
Votes should be submitted to the club Secretary only, either by telling him at the club whom you wish to vote for, email, or via PM on this site. (PM is preferred)
The results of the committee election will be announced at the Club's AGM in December. Votes may be cast on the AGM night, but all Votes must be registered by 19:45 on the AGM night in order to allow the AGM to begin promptly.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR VOTE(S) ON THIS POST; THIS IS ONLY FOR PEOPLE WISHING TO STAND FOR ELECTION TO THE COMMITTEE.
There are several criteria required to put yourself forward for election, and to vote, and these are:
• You can only stand for election if you are over 18, and are a fully paid up Phoenix Gaming Club member.
• You may only vote in the elections if you are a fully paid up Phoenix Gaming Club member.
• Any person who wishes to stand for election to the committee must have renewed their club membership for the year by the night of the AGM.
• Anyone who wishes to stand for election to the committee may only stand for election for a single committee position.
• Any prospective committee member, regardless of what position they choose to stand for, should be prepared to attend committee meetings throughout the year. These occur approximately once every three months, depending on what club business needs to be dealt with.
• Attendance at all committee meetings is not mandatory, but prospective committee members should be prepared to attend meetings where ever possible.
If you would like to put yourself forward but are not sure about what the roles entail, please feel free to ask one or more of the current committee for more information.
