24hr Gaming Opportunity
We have been advised by the Scouts that we can (date depending) have the use of the HQ for a 24hr gaming ‘marathon’, with the monies raised, or at least 50%, being donated to the scouts, and the other 50% going to club funds or another charity of our choosing, like Help For Heroes or something else. We will have to pay a minimum of £50 to the scouts if we do this.
This will be open to all members, and maybe some non-members, to allow for maybe extended / large games of whatever you would like to play, or perhaps just the chance to get lots of smaller games into a period of intense game time.
My initial thoughts are to try and organise this for one of the days between Christmas and New Year, as both of those fall on a Tuesday, and would mean that the club would meet last in December on the 18th, and the first meeting in January 2019 would be the 8th.
My suggestion would be from 4 or 5pm on Friday the 28th December, and finishing 24hrs later on Saturday the 29th, but obviously feel free to suggest alternate dates, and a decision can be made from those put forward.
My thinking is that the charge for this would be £5 for members, and £10 for non-members, irrespective of whether you are there for 3hrs or all 24. You can of course go home and come back during that time, or as we have the HQ for all the 24hr period, you can simply sleep in at the HQ, and we can then either cook, or order food in as required.
As this will also not be a normal ‘club night’ you could also bring alcohol if you wish.
If you would be interested in this, please let me know so I can determine if it is worth organising, and we can then book the venue, and begin to sell tickets.
If you have any other suggestions or questions, please fire away
Thanks
Carl
