Hi thanks for the game last night, a very bloody battle against those nasty Viking invaders. May be worth noting in case anyone else gets the 'escort' scenario to play and didn't realise (as I didn't)...the 3 units of baggage are separate units which generate their own saga dice. I had to check the saga FAQ to find this out as I don't think its that clear in the scenario description. It wouldn't have made much difference for me as Jacks Vikings came in so hard and fast my guys didn't stand much of a chance...lol. The first melee exchange on turn 2 saw a unit of 4 beserkers killed whilst taking out 5 of my warriors which pretty much set the tone for the rest of the game...fast, aggressive and violent. Great fun.

Campaign season one has very quickly come to a close. Seems to have ran fairly smoothly (appreciate any feedback please ) there has only been three games, due to a lot of the warlords defending, all defenders this campaign are able to make alliances in the next.
Defenders:- James (Norse-Gaels), Ryan (Anglo-Danish), Paul (Vikings), Graham (anglo-Saxon) and Dave (welsh )
raiders:- Jack (Vikings) raiding Graham was an escort scenario. There appeared to be a great many casualties on both sides with Jack taking the win as Graham's warlord fell to a unit of hearth guard, to then find his only units left were levy, who unfortunately with no order dice available, simply ran away. Carl (anglo-Danish) raiding Dave, unsure on what scenario was played, again both sides lost quite a few men with Carl gaining a victory.
Campaigners:- Pete (Viking) campaigning against me, we thought a homeland campaign with several of my units inside their homes as the onslaught began, Pete's warlord and berserkers attacked immediately almost wiping out a unit of hearth guard in the process. My activation saw my warlord and the unit of warriors in the building engage with The enemy warlord which ended very badly as Pete's warlord was put to the sword ending any chance of a victory.
In the next campaign season all factions that defended are able to ally with other players All I need from everyone is their traits and what they intend to do in campaign season 2, be it
1. raid 2. campaign 3. defend
if you can message me on here as to which you are choosing please ASAP or text on 07787417374 or email paul_wilky@hotmail.com

Campaign so far, i'm not to sure on everyone's special rule, what they rolled on the fate table and their wealth, rep, land and power at the moment. Please have a look at season 2 and who is doing what. feel free to arrange your games as you see fit. Campaign season will be 4 weeks, unless we finish early again Attachments:Saga Campaign sheet.pdf (183.49 KB)

You can defend twice, unless you have Certain traits (war-toothed) Stops you defending consecutively.

Hi Mark, we're just starting a new campaign season, so by all means pop down tomorrow, I'll run you through starting up your Viking warband, fill out your sheet and you'll be ready to go. However I can't guarantee you a game tomorrow. If you want to raid or campaign against someone on the sheet in my post a few posts back (saga campaign sheet PDF) and your able to contact that person and arrange a game by all means please do. Paul.

Hi Paul
That would be great if we can get the details filled in and I can look at how things work. I'm not bothered much about getting a game tomorrow. It would probably be best if could look at how it all works and get a grasp of it first. I will bring a warband anyway just in case.
Regards
Mark

Same question as Mark... room for a small one in the Saga campaign ? I could pop down tonight for a briefing and start in earnest next week ...
Have Vikings and Anglo-Saxons

If you can play with your Anglo-Saxons would be preferable as the Vikings seem to be everywhere. Paul

Paul (Wilkinson)
I've had a look through the campaign notes you kindly gave me on Tuesday, and have one question. As I am joining the campaign at season 2, should I roll on the fate table as it says in the rules ? If so, could you roll on my behalf and let me know what I got, please ?
Thanks Martyn

Paul
I said I had one question, it turns out I had two !
In games are we constrained to field each unit as selected on the roster? So, for example, not giving too much away, my 4 point faction as listed on my roster contains 2 x 8 warriors. Must I field those as two 8 man units, or could I choose to field them as, say, a 12 and a 4, or a 10 and a 6 ? And if I had 2 x 4 hearthguards on my roster could I choose to combine them as 1 unit of 8 ?
Grateful for clarification.
Thanks Martyn
