Hey everyone. Arron here, I was wondering how many people would be interested in taking part in the starter campaign for the new 5th edition of DnD. It's called the Lost Mines of Phandelver (there are a tonne of reviews of it on the internet, the majority of them being very favourable.) I've played it before with some friends of mine and it really is a fun campaign. Unfortunately outside caused us to be unable to complete it and so I've searched out for a new gaming group.
I have all of the necessary equipment that would be required to play the game, all I would ask you to bring would be a writing implement and your razor wits. And of course it would be entirely up to you all if you would prefer to use the pre made characters or create your own, (I think the majority vote should decide that one.) I already have the books required to create characters if need be.
There are 5 available characters, (it's even suggested to keep it to no more than 5 player characters.) So I think a first come, first serve system here would be fairest.
Don't let past experience of the game be a factor though, this starter campaign is a great initiation into the game as well as fun for more experienced hands, (it was the first campaign that I had ever played after all.)
Any response would be most appreciated. I would really love to be able to get this adventure running again, this game is just so much fun.

I can't speak for anyone else but as I play a couple of other games and try to alternate my games, RPG's at the club take up to much potential game time.
I'd be much more tempted if it was an alternate night or something.

Well it can be rearranged for other times if that is easier for the group to gather, it doesn't necessarily need to be a Tuesday.

I'd be more than happy to change to another day if it was easier for people, it's really just the venue that's the concern, not the day.

it would need to be at someone's house unless you can sort a small room at a local pub who would give it for free as we would obviously buy drinks / snacks etc whilst there
where are you based

Managed to find another interested person, we're now at 2 players. If we get at least one more we can definitely begin. Can't wait to get this running.

Hi, I'm Matt I've only just joined the forum as i was looking to do the same myself, i've not played any D&D for a VERY long time, right back in the early 90's when i was at school, but recently picked up the new starter set, hoping to play with some friends, however none of those are interested, they'd rather be all high brow and play trivial pursuit, hmmm, so i was in fact looking for the exact same to kick off playing some D&D as it is now. It's ben so long since i've actually played any D&D i've pretty much forgotten everything, but have re-read the books (except the actual campaign, didn't want to spoil it) and have been watching the Penny Arcade/Acquisitions Incorporated videos on Youtube to refresh myself they really are a hoot. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn6B56Z59fo (this is the most recent one, but earlier ones have had me falling off my chair). Not wanting to sound too eager of course, as this is only my first post, is there an introduce yourself section? And i can give a little more info about myself, also would be cool to pop along to the next meet to maybe talk some more and meet a few more people. Matt

Welcome to the forum Matt. We tend to use the general discussion forum for any introductions, or which ever sub forum you happen to land in :-)

Hi Vader/Matt. You're welcome to join our group if you'd like, we haven't started yet so you'd be there at session 0. I'll message you the details.
