Great day had by all - although the turnout was smaller than expected it didn't dampen any spirits and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Big thanks to Paul Tysoe, Martyn, Julie and step in Alex Jarosz who all pitched in to make this work very well.
A special mention to Simon Robinson who couldn't be with us today as other things had cropped up. He ensured the rules pack, scenario pack and those little baggage carts were ready in time.
It was great that all the awards / trophies all went to different people. That was great to see.
Best Painted - Tony Sansom who amassed 18pts for his Swiss. Worth the mention for Dave Johnson and Dave Pearson who both scored 9 points in joint second.
Axed to Death award (for last place) went to Julie (WoTr Tudor army)with just 34pts and very gracious she was about it too.
Second runner up - Andy Mellor (Italian City States)with 48pts.
Runner up - Paul Tysoe (Wotr Tudor) with 61pts (after slipping me a fiver and a yearly subscription for Knitting with the Family)
Winner - Andy Beer (Timurids) with 71pts - a clear run away winner by 10 points
however the Bloodiest General trophy went to Alex Jarosz who amassed a for and against VP count of 12018 pts.
To be honest the third place was a very close affair with no less than five people getting very close to it over a few battle points.
Here are the full; results in Excel and Word form - you have to sign in to see it.
Final table of results Axes2014.xls (19.5 KB)PHOENIX GAMING CLUB AXES 2014 WAB Tournamen....doc (46 KB)
I will add some photos later after they have been vetted by the quality control Department (yeah you'll probably get three if your lucky)
