Thanks to everyone that came to the Rushden Rumble 2014 which was on the whole a roaring success. Most of that roaring came from the laughing man Ian Sturgess - I have never heard him have so much fun! It was all about the Giants today and wow were there some superb ones on offer!
I would in particular like to thank Stephen Mawson who swapped a shift to help out but in the end because of late drop outs couldn't get a game. Also thanks to Simon Robinson who gave up his spare time to help set up and pack away. Cheers also to Darrell, Craig Paul and Ethan who also helped set up. Last and by no means least Julie who collected the doughnuts and cleared the kitchen and bin bags at the end. Go team Phoenix!

although two people wrote for their game that Kale was outstanding on their sheets, so well done for that game. I only found out an hour ago while going through them.
Tragedy awards - Both have free in tickets for 2015!
Dale Needham (Hatrick)
Dan Humpage (we owe you a medal)
I have adjusted one error on the results sheet which is not a game changer. So here is an abridged results. Apologies to Ryan Smith for not entering the return key on the very last result entry (got distracted) - fixed now and you are not second last. Which means that Dan Humpage is - sorry man!
Both of these great guys will be free in next year.

I took some pictures of the event and will post up over the next few days. They are not of fantastic quality but better than nought.
Just a few things -a number of errors crept in during the day as a number of people had written results in the wrong sections, also tallying up the same to which their partners had got seemed to go amiss with some. As a T.O. it doesn't help when this happens although its my job to find them. This I did but then I belly flopped with the Giant winning scores but managed to give this to the right man. I would like to say a huge thanks and lots of respect to Norbert who pointed out that he had only x amount of giant points and I checked and found he was correct. So he gave the trophy to rightful owner. Kudos to you.
Also thanks to Ian Sturgess who gladly cleared up one or two tricky rules questions - thanks mate!
A massive thank you to all who travelled up /down to Rushden - without you guys this wouldn't happen!
I hope you all had a great time and looking forward to seeing you again next year!
We are thinking of doing a WFB singles tournament in autumn more on this later. However there is a 40K one sometime in September - I will give details about this one when I speak to Darrell again who is organising it.
