guys
as i see it for the event so far we have the following 3 games,
WW1 28mm game
Hail Caesar 28mm game
ECW 28mm game
and could do with one more, so anyone fancy putting on a 4th game, maybe using the clubs Wings of War first world war planes perhaps as it is 100th anniversary or maybe something else like, flames of war, ACW, ancients etc.
also, anyone interested in attending please let me know ao i can add you to the list at the club

Although I'm already tied up with the ancients I think a few small bolt action games might go down well if people are prepared to run them - based on the success of last years large table two or three small games might go down very well with the public and English Heritage.
In theory we could have a different era/theatre on each one
D-day North Africa Battle for Berlin Barbarossa Etc
A chance for the 8th Army and Italians to have an outing?

Bolt Action would be good if anyone wishes to step up for this as i will be with Pete, Dave and Ryan on the WW1 table although i think 4 tables max will be ample based on numbers of people we normally get. any more than that and everyone will be stuck on the tables for the whole weekend which is not ideal.

I have my 4x4 table frame which would be good for bolt action small size games, more manageable for a couple of volunteers to run. keep forces to say 500 or 750 points and take the public through a short game.
Also easier to populate with terrain.

Julie and I will be with the HC game however I wouldn't mind just doing a one off game of pirates but using just British and French ships. I would only need a very small table -perhaps a 4 x 4. Maybe I will use pirate ships but nothing from the POTC series.

sounds good mate. perhaps if others wanted to dip in with other small games like wings of war etc then these could rotate on the 4th table whilst the others are running all weekend

The Hail Ceasar table is off to a good start, had a good run out of the rules and armies today with Simon and James, on a 6x4, even used a reduced scale especially for 6x4 in the last game, interesting outcome. At Kelmarsh we will be using an 8x6 table and running a campaign weekend based upon the Britannia suppliment. We will need to build both a Roman Fort and a British Hill Fort for the week end, plans afoot already. We will book some 1 on 1 games with you and Julie Warren, to bring you up to speed with the rules. We have the armies in place just finish off some re-basing and paint a handful of units up and we will be there. [Exactly how many units of barbarians can we fit on a 8x6 table ] Sounds all too easy and prepared hmmm - can it be that simple ??

couple of points;
1. zvezda do the type of scenery you want but are primarily for 20mm i think and are in plastic but if you are putting on a hill you are making then it might work and the guy in Raunds sells them.
2. dont forget the club armies can be used, ubless you are already planning on incorporating these of course

Last Kelmarsh, Rick Priestly was hinting rather heavily that he'd love to see a Battle of Watling Street HC table this year. Not sure if that fits into your plans at all though. Sorry I can't help out this time round but I'll probably be working. Hopefully, if all goes well I'll be working on a WW stand at Kelmarsh though so I won't miss out on all the fun

if WW def want a stand please ask Carl to contact me to confirm and will pass details to my EH contact, unless of course you guys have already done so direct. let me know asap though as i think they will shortly be making plans to contact potential traders for this year
we can run a game as mentioned above if smeone wishes to do this or we could ask Rik and the Warlord guys to consider doing so if we wanted to
cheers

It all depends on which way we go.
We're considering something slightly different this year based around the excellent Britannia supplement which might well involve the battle of Wattling street.
Will have a better idea when the plans are firmed up.

@ Carl I like the idea of rotation and perhaps have a timetable to when each game was being played - perhaps giving us 3 hours per game. This will keep the games small and short and if they do finish early then it gives people the time to redo the scenery / terrain on the table (as well as some time off to go and explore). With the pirates game its pretty much all at sea with a few islands - nothing too much to do. The only problem will be with the Bolt Action set up with lots of terrain on it. I'm sure we can work something out for it.
Although primarily Julie and I will be with Simon and Paul on the HE table.

we can have more than one table set out and scened up and simply switch across from one to the other as required. on the sea mat we could even use the wings of war planes
