Got my British army book this week but the pack howitzer Warlord make and sell for British Airborne not included can someone with the US army book tell me it's rules, stats and the points cost for a veteran unit? Really fancy gaming a Bridge seizing game and an Arnhem last stand with my airborne if anyone is interested at some point. Cheers

I'm just running mine as a normal light howitzer. Granted the model doesn't actually have a gun shield but I suppose the physical mass of the gun could get in the way...

I thought about that but the British book light howitzer is the 25pdr which gains an anti tank bonus which seems wrong for the pack.

I've been playing around with my paras today and that was one of the things that had trouble finding.
However i've gone for an air landing company that were not as well trained as regular paras and had fewer men in a platoon due to glider operations so made them Veterans instead of paras. It gives me a tetrach tank which stranegly is rated as regular although i guess they are taking into consideration that the man driving/firing it is not a tank man.
So forgot about the howitzer completely and saved a few quid.

That sounds good Garth. I was slightly disappointed by the lists as none fit my paras well. the market garden list is great but that precludes me taking my Humber armoured car or tetrach. The other lists stop me taking sten gun squads so somewhat frustrated.

I dont go with the theatre selectors. remember that when talking of the paras this was just a small part of a force that wore the red beret and market garden was only one of many operations As well as tetrachs they also had Morris cut down trucks, universal carriers, jeeps, and theres no reason that you cannot attach scout cars, They lso hd light anti aircraft guns i.e 20mm hispano suiza and 40mm bofors, field ambulances and as well as the welbike they also had light motorcycles about the size of the old yamaha fs1E if anyone can remember that.
However if your going to be historically accurate and have glider borne troops as opposed to paras, hense vehicles you are talking aout, then a platoon was 28 men and not 30 or more as usual. However making that work is harder than it looks.
I've gone for 27 men in a platoon plus medic =28. I'm guessing the rest would be in the other glider, although technically I believe that things like the 3" mortar would be part of the platoon as would the piat but bolt action makes you field this things seperately. Personally I wish that bolt action had allowed one to field the piat as part of each squad as with the german panzerfaust but he ho.
Another thing you could do is have a platoon of british soldiers wtith a sherman and scout car as a relief force for mrket garden as the idea was to capture the bridges in this case Arnhem and wait for relief. See the film a bridge too far.

I like the ideas Garth. I still think they should have had an wider theatre selector though or allowed more para trooper squads in some if the other selectors.

whoop whoop... The new errata allows unlimited paratroop sections in the Normandy list and they can read welbikes!
