guys
what does the club membership want to do this year?
previous years we have done;-
ten pin bowling
chinese meal
curry night
we could do one of these again or something else, but what?
my idea is to hold an extra club night, on a friday and then order in some take away food and maybe hold the xmas raffle and elections on this night as well.
any other suggestions please fire away

Chicken 'n' chips basket night -we hinted about it before but nothing was done or we opted for something else. Hold an extra club night sounds good - I don't fancy the Chinese buffet again. We did hint about a quiz night at the hall and invite others down.

Just let me throw my hat in the ring...as it were.... Depending on dates and existing bookings/commitments (as December in particular is very manic). If I were available and the membership felt it would be suitable I would be more than happy to put on one of my cabaret show which when coupled with some food could make an interesting and fun (hopefully) night. I have done many of these type of functions before and the format seems to work well. Just a thought???. If any one cares to check out www.magicgraham.co.uk there's a little more info. or PM, or of course try the old traditional method of having a chat next time I'm down. Should be there on 13th Sept. Cheers

the scout hq is free friday 9th decemebr. if we want to do this we need to decide fast as graham gets bookings around this time for xmas parties etc
i think we could hold the raffle and elections this night as well as a few games going on and when we have a bite to eat, graham could do his show.
what do others think?

as long as there is no cash prize i cant see a problem myself.
perhaps a voucher for either the northampton or rushden game shop (winners choice) would be good

Still got a quiz to do as well - but I think we should shorten it to perhaps 3 rounds of 5 questions and 1 music listening round. Also doing a round of gaming related questions does seem a bit unfair on people that do not game in certain genres so I won't be doing that. Does Graham have any platform stages to do his magic act so he is a bit elevated?
Carl - we need to talk about the timings of certain events here and perhaps set out a timetable of what will happen on the night. It doesn't have to be rigid but gives people an idea of what starts when. I think the green clothes on the tables may help to make it look good. As we do want people sat down to watch Graham magical feats - also for the quiz.
So we need a general idea of how long these would take do each. I envisage the roulette one could take about 15-30mins.

Hello chaps....no stage for needed for my short cabaret style routine. Have often done such things for various dinner type events before. To be fair the scout hall is probably a lot better than some venues I have worked at! I do normally request a white dressing room with a bowl of smarties with all the red ones removed and two green dyed sheep to keep me company, but seeing as its you just an audience to watch will be fine (although one sheep wounldn't go a miss) ;-)
