Found this entry on the WECW site, not sure we have been playing it this way, any views?
We've been playing like this, the pike and shot are seperate units but if within 2" the shot benefits from the standard, musician and size of the pike block. One break test is taken for the whole regiment. Which can lead to some strangeness. For example, we played a game the other day. Dragoons charged a shot unit from the rear, beat them in combat, and the entire regiment broke and fled.
Have to say i prefer to test per block rather than regiment, but thought I would share this for information and discussion.
cheers

we are using the renaissance version so if you dont want muskets to have to pay for separate command units then they HAVE to be blocked together with the 'parent' pike block and they are then all liable to go when one does.
you can have them separate but they MUST have their own command units in them at a cost of 20pts per independent unit. it's up to each person and there are for's and against i suppose for both options
