Well you are getting rid of one of them this Tuesday against Julie.

Interestingly enough anybody except Julie has still an open chance in getting to the semifinals. I don't think that you have updated this table Stephen as your result against Julie has not been put in. Can we get these last matches played as quickly as possible as Jon and I are playing with the old O&G book and its pretty confusing going from one book to another. I haven't played with this army for about 4 or 5 months, so decidedly rusty!

No, I know I haven't. Will be done tonight.
Unfortunately the fact that we've lost at least one club meeting, maybe two, isn't going to help with getting these games done.
James the only contact I have for Richard is his Mobile number. I'm not sure if he'd appreciate me simply giving that to you. But I can text him your email address if you want?

Cheers Steven that would be great. No pressure just wanted to try and get it out of the way before I start the 40K.

This is quite interesting as James on 15 could actually get to 4th position on at least a draw but should be hoping for a 6-0 as other matches are to be played. However he cannot catch Darrell whatever the case. Jon Nicholls will be looking over his shoulder but it does look like his tenure on fourth place looks temporary at most. Paul Redburn has 2 games left and could reach second spot (other matches going his way). Then there is the dark horse Richard Humphries who could with four games in hand storm up the table to second spot himself with 4x 6pts game wins. Nobody can catch me except for Stephen and I hope he does as I would like to face off with him in the final - revenge on the only defeat in the table he inflicted on me. Provided that we get through the semis - which is not a foregone conclusion.
Now we just need games to get finished as I'm forgetting how to play old O&G.

At what stage do we call this? I know I have really held it up by failing to set up my game with Rich. Am willing to forfeit to bring things to a close.

as this has been going on for most if not all of 2011 can i suggest that next years starts no earlier than July and whomever runs it has set dates for games to be played on or by and it to be done for xmas 2012

Stephen could you tidy up the results table as we have Julie's games and some of your missing. I think you have won this table if its vs Julie's result you didn't put in but then I may have won it if its your last result vs Paul has not been put in.
Regardless of facts the only three games left here are all against Richard. Richard could conceivably get fourth place. So I suggest he does play either James or Paul next, as either could get to the play-offs as well. Next time I don't think we should have such a large table. Cut it into two leagues and winner and runners up play each other, or simply the winners of each table play each other in the final for 1st and second place and then the runner's up play for 3rd and fourth. This is how I would do this next year. Less games less hassle trying to get people to play each other. That would just total 4 games. Its amazing to think that a one day tournament could have this done and dusted.
What does anybody think to a one day - Phoenix only tournament for the SFS instead of dragging through these league games. We could just use downstairs and pay £6 each to cover costs. Normally to play each game in the current format it would be 7x £2.50 plus extra £2.50 if you were in the play offs and finals. This way its done and dusted. I'm sure that we could get 10 players and anybody else wanting to come along and game something else would be more than welcome. The tournament would only need five tables and other tables could be used for other FoW or WAB players looking for some Saturday gaming. These other players could help to recuperate costs of the Hall hire. What do we say to this?

good idea on the one dayer, but you will only get 3 or 4 games per person so not everyone will play everyone else and how will you decide who plays who after the first game unless you have a draw for each round and say you cant play someone twice

The intention was to have 2 divisions. However given the number of players I got, then would have meant one division of only 4 people, so just three games played, which seemed too small for a sensible league. If I had one more player I would have split it into two groups. As I didn't one league seemed a little better, even thought it meant a lot more games.
Been having some internet problems at home, which is why the table has only just been updated with my result against Paul.

I'm not too keen on the tournament idea personally. You'd only be looking at three games total to determine where the trophy goes. I like leagues better for this sort of thing.

Well it seems if Rich plays Paul next my game could be academic or if I play him next Paul might yet have some work to do. Very interesting!
