Just to let everyone know, that I've pretty much finished sorting out the rules for the 2011 SFS Memorial Trophy League.
The full rules will be posted up here soon.
In the mean time, if anyone would like to enter, please let me know.

So far that would be just you and me.
Although I think it's fairly safe to assume that Darrell, Warren, Carl and probably Julie will be playing.

actually, i'm not playing this year, as i don't feel Vamps are competitive under their current book and the new rules.
good luck to all who enter and do Simon proud again guys.

Put me in however I'm unsure about Julie as she hates the new rules - especially hordes. She reckons the only army her dwarves would beat are the vampire counts and as I won't play them and neither will Carl then she won't stick a chance (so she says).

Yeah have to say I'm not very enthused about warhammer at the moment either and I think Jon is much like Carl and Julie. Its a shame as the trophy is a nice event - could we do it this year for 40K or something instead since we have the Rumble for warhammer as well.
PS Has Paul been around lately as he is usually the man to beat.

Simon did play 40k as well, and i suppose we could do that, but would prefer it if Paul gave the ok as well as he doesn't do 40k. i don't do much 40k but would enter my space marines if it was this.
Steve also needs to ok this as he is running the fantasy version.
Paul is at the meal on friday and perhaps could be asked.
another suggestion is that we alternate years on fantasy and then 40k, so this year 40k and next fantasy, and so on. just an idea though.

I don't mind if you want to make it 40K. Although considering the army choices I have available to me, like Carl I don't think I have any real chance of competing. I would rather have VC than TK for example. I will though put myself in to the competition if it is Fantasy, have to defend my crown even if all I have is a pitchfork and a hay bale to hide behind

Sorry have just realised how much effort Steve has put into the sorting the rules so lets leave the 40k idea for now and it strikes me if we all feel our armies are rubbish maybe if will be more open this year!

perhaps we could say fantasy for this time and 40k for the next one and then alternate year on year.

Have to say, I'm probably in the same boat as everyone else! Not really that enthused by the new rules and both my armies are pretty weak, ie if I was playing Darrell's demons it probably wouldn't be worth me turning up! But I will be taking part in the spirit of the tournament... There is a new O&G book out in March (confirmed by a GW news letter). What difference this makes we will have to wait and see!!

@ Jon - as it goes the O&G is quite competitive as it stands. I have noticed that a lot of people are using them at tournies. They are usually the VC people who have turned their back on VC as they have been now made a near bottom teir army. I think that the new O& G book will only wrong the right and (speculative) make the O&G army as pants as 7th ed. If you play 40K then that would be me out - as I don't like the game after five concerted goes! Oh and Darrell's daemons don't scare me none

40K would probably count me out as well, as I haven't been in the mood to play that for quite some time.

i think we should keep it as fantasy for 2011 and have a look at what we want to do for 2012 later next year but i feel we should limit it to fantasy or 40k as these were the games simon played

I agree with Darrell, and think you should stick to fantasy for 2011, especially as Steve has already done the rules. But how much of a 40K player was Simon? Because if he only dabbled in 40k then perhaps we should just continue with the current set-up.
